Well, here I am, I know you may have given up on me! The summer pictures are coming here in next several posts! I may have given up on me too by now! It's going to be picture heavy so I warned you, but hopefully you will enjoy watching from afar tidbits of our summer together. It was far from perfect, far from "having it all together" but overall, it was a fun summer, when I look back over the memories that were made, my heart feels thankful!
I'll try to start off where we left off and keep it simple, maybe more for my sake than yours, the hardest part is narrowing down what pictures to choose, but here goes! :) This post and following pics are from our little trip to Gulf Shores, Al in June. Gulf Shores/Orange Beach are some of the beaches that a lot of people in Tupelo go to for vacation, kinda like Myrtle Beach is back home for my family. This was our second time to be there, but this was the first time we were there in a summer month where we could enjoy swimming and being at the beach (one of my favorite past times!).
At one of our favorite restaurants in Gulf Shores, Al called Lambert's...where they throw rolls at you and all kinds of other funny things! Here's Stanley with the yummy roll that he caught with his own hands. He was super excited! Crazy as it is, we love this restaurant so much, we waited in line for 2+ hours, not once, but TWO times so we could enjoy (or should I say pig out!) on their yummy food!

Good times in the hotel room...we typically like staying in a suite with 2 rooms so we have time to lounge after kids go to bed, but since we were very spontaneous with planning this trip (like we made reservations on Tuesday night and left Thursday, on the drive, we extended our trip from Saturday to Sunday, how's that for spontaneous?!!)...you can't see, but the kids have little cups with the candy they chose from the vending machine. Come to find out my brother lets his kids get candy from the vending machine at hotels, too :), it seems we are both reliving some childhood memories with our grandparents! Anyways, here they are enjoying their candy.:)
Gotta love the beach pics, I have so many that I could post, but here's a cute one for you, they loved playing at the beach. Much to their mama's enjoyment, they spent hours playing without much of a complaint of the heat...the only problem is the waves were a little rougher than we would like and there were jelly fish everywhere you looked! :(
The last day at the beach, the sun and activity finally wore Clara down. Stanley looks pretty sleepy too, if you ask me!
Any girl will wake up to an offer for a slushy, my kids love slushies, popsicles, anything with ice and sugar, they are in! Gotta love that smile!
Family shot...Eric was proud of me. Since we did not stay on the beach per se, the thought of returning in the evening to get a family pic on the beach was more energy than Eric definitely wanted to put forth, and honestly me, too, hence the family pic in our hotel room. :) We got plenty of other pics on the beach. :)
Sweet little sister and big brother on our last night at the beach...what a fun, fun week!! I'm so thankful we spontaneously planned it and were able to stay for four days instead of just three. This was our first little vacation just our little family, 4 days was the perfect length and it was just fun to have some sweet family time together!
