Family Time

These pictures don't need much explanation, Kate did such a good job!  We are super pleased with her work!  Thanks again Kate!  These are just a few of my favorites!!

As always, thanks for stopping!!
I'm calling it a night!!  This is like SEVEN posts in one night, so if you are starting now with this one, I have SIX new ones behind this one!!

School!!

Even though we had a lot of fun this summer, a routine is always nice.  This year, we continued with some old routines, but started some new routines.  We are extremely blessed to have Stanley's preschool that he has been going to since he was 3...he has been able to get some extra help and is doing so well!  We are so proud of him!
Here Clara and Stanley are on Stanley's first day of school
 Love this boy!!
 Mama and her son
 Daddy and his son
Clara started going to a little day school at First Baptist twice a week.  We didn't get Stanley in anything with other children until age 3, and had some difficulties socially with him, so we (as most people do!) probably are correcting that by making some decisions about how we wanted to do things with Clara.  Although she's a little younger, I think it's great timing for her to continue to be around other children learning social skills etc.  Being far away from family (although we have friends who are willing to help!), it's turning out to be a good time for Mommy to run errands or meet with friends and have some down time...so here's sweet Clara on her first day of day school at First Baptist...where her teachers already love her hugs, snuggles, and waves!  They say she's doing great with the other children and following directions!  We pray (and ultimately know) that this is a good decision for her!
Stanley was already at his school, and Daddy was already at work so we had to get a picture together inside before leaving the first day, just as cute I guess!:)

That's it about school, the year is starting off good and the routine is great for all of us!!  Mama is a better mama with a break and a routine like this, it's working out great so far!

As always thanks for stopping, I think I am going for one more post of some pics one of our friends (and interns from our church this summer) took of our family...she does a great job, just natural and real.  We really appreciate her taking pics of us, thanks Kate!!

Summer Recap...part 5

My sweet husband and parents drove 12 hours to nowhere just so me and the kids could spent a week in VA with my family...meaning, me and the kids drove 12 hours and got to VA that day, but my parents and Eric returned to their respective homes after 12 hours of driving!  I'm glad they love me!
The kids and my parents before church
 Excited to playing corn hole!
VERY CUTE!  I like my dad's smile here!
We hung out a lot on the front or back porch while the kids played.  It was actually a cooler week in VA.  We walked every morning and one time our hands never warmed up after walking, that's how cold it was!
The warmest day we could find...we headed to swim at Michelle's "in law's" pool...it was very cold, that was one of the points in going to visit in August to get some swim time in with cousins, but sad to say we only made it one day, for about an hour!
Again, Clara loves her some love from her sweet cousins!
 Hanging out in the intertube
 Aw, this is too cute!!
At the children's museum, playing ice cream shop
Center Stage at the children's museum
Movie "Wings" and popcorn at Grandma and Roger Dean's
 Cuddling on the couch...
 With Grandma...
 ...and Roger Dean...
Hanging out with cousins during the day is what we did a lot of...which all the kids loved!!
So on the last day, we all went to see Planes on opening day!  It wasn't supposed to be in 3D and it took a bit for Stanley to get used to the glasses and understand why it was blurry if he didn't wear them...but he eventually rolled with it...Clara stayed awake enough to say CARS! when she saw Planes logo :) and then proceeded to snuggle on my lap and take her afternoon nap!

This was another great week, we played games, I again did a lot of reading and walking, and we enjoyed some adult time out with siblings, shopping, and another movie...it's fun to be able to spend a whole week together!!
Thanks Grandma and Roger Dean for an awesome week!!

As always, thanks for stopping, and keep coming back, I'm almost done!!
There's more to come...

Kendra

Summer Recap...part 4

We also enjoyed many good times around Tupelo and at the house...
So let's just say Clara is "interested" in potty but not "interested."  She will kill me someday when she knows I posted this picture on the internet but oh well!  So what I mean by that is she likes the underwear so much, that she is wearing THREE pairs at one time!  But, she says NO! most of the time when I ask her if she wants to go in the potty.  She loves to read her "Big Girls Go Potty" book and flush her Minnie potty that says "HURRAY!" but she few and far between wants to sit on the potty and has yet to actually go in the potty!  :)  It will come, I'm just praying like crazy that she is an easier potty trainee than Stanley!  Maybe the potty trainer has learned some things after her first experience with Stanley, too!  :)
Stanley loves to draw with sidewalk chalk on our sidewalk out to our back building.  We got out early this morning to beat the heat!
You can probably tell that Clara just woke up, she may still have sleep in her eyes, for sure it was an early morning, because Mommy still let her have her binky! :)
Saying good-bye to Daddy as he leaves for work at the church
My little project managers in the kitchen
Stanley is not taking naps everyday now :(, so we have to be creative people with our time together!  This is his own doing...he sure is a goofball like his Dad!
Yep, for sure!  Goofball like his Dad!
Slip and Slide at our house!
FUN!!
Checking out the water sprinkles and the bugs
Our George "Riveria" Resort and Waterslide
What can we say, we are Mississippians now!
Picnic outside before swimming in our pool for the first time
 Stanley going down the slide!
 WEEEE!!!!
 BATH BUBBLES!!
Clara would sit and play in the bubbles for hours if we could!
Why yes, after bath bubbles in the pool...my kids did immediately get a bath in the pool before going inside.  Eric just shook his head at me, come on!  That's just smart!  :)
 Downtown fountains
About ready to have a picnic at the fountains
Did I mention that Stanley is not taking naps like he was?!  :)  Creativity through Pinterest is this bowling activity, that Stanley thought was awesome!  This kept him busy in our room away from Clara while she was napping for a whole hour!  He was proud to have stacked these all by himself.
BOWLING!!  :)  I was the coolest Mom that day, I'm pretty sure!!

That's it for around Tupelo, now we are on to me and the kids trip to VA!  As always thanks for stopping, and of course, more to come, keep coming back!!
