Just a little busy...

The George's have been a little busy over the past month...here's what we have been up to...

We have been making Valentine's mail boxes for school parties...

We've been coloring, or if you are Clara, you have also been transferring crayons from one cup to another...I guess that's par for the stage she is in...good fine motor activity, right?!

We've been cutting out Valentine's cookies...

Frosting and putting sprinkles on Valentine's cookies (or eating the cookies)...

Here's the finished products, Stanley and his class enjoyed them at school the next day...

With the help of a partner in crime (Will Rambo), we surprised Daddy with a lunch on Valentine's Day...Old Venice pizza, balloons, and a Starbuck's card...

Valentine's lunch with Daddy at work...

Went to Chuckee Cheese's with our friends, Lucy and Rivers...

How sweet is that...

Stanley and Rivers...

Opened up Valentine's presents...a friend (thanks Kelly Marlin!) made these
aprons for the kids..Thomas for Stanley and Minnie for Clara...

Always cooperation for pictures...

The golf clubs and balls were a hit with the kids...

I had 2 days away with my dear friend, Naomi...we met half way in Birmingham, ate out, shopped, went to see Safe Haven, and ate, talked, talked, slept in...it was such a refreshing time!!

We enjoyed a five-day visit from my Mom and my Aunt Jan (my mom's sister)...the kids had a blast with them while they were here...we enjoyed the Elvis Presley museum..

We celebrated Grandma's birthday a little early...

Enjoyed a yummy, chocolate-y birthday cake...
Mommy and Daddy even enjoyed a little date on Sunday afternoon with free babysitting!!  What did we do?!  First, we got new tires on our van at Sam's Club (for real!), and went to see a movie...what a fun time to have them here!!

Daddy went to a conference in Austin, TX, for four days, so it was the first time mommy was home with kids by myself for an extended period of time...I'm proud to say we did it! and we were well taken care of...one afternoon, friends came to play...

We jumped in Clara's bed...

We jumped in the van, first thing in the morning, and got blueberry donuts for the kids and a chicken biscuit for Mommy at a local southern establishment called Connie's Chicken, drive thrus are great!  As you see, the kids love the donuts!

We watched movies...

We finger painted...

We colored in the bathtub...

It "snowed" on Saturday, and here's my kids watching it snow, it snowed for a total of oh! maybe 30 minutes, I don't know, and didn't leave anything on the ground.  Stanley wanted so badly to build a snowman and make snow balls, but sadly I had to explain to him that probably would not happen...he even took a picture of the "snow" with his leap pad...oh my! my poor "southern" kids will not know snow like Eric and I did growing up...

After "snow" time, we had a beach day...here they are ready to jump off the "diving board"...

Having a snack of apples at the beach...

Stanley helped Mommy make homemade pizza for dinner...

Miss Carleigh, one of our beloved sitters, joined me and the kids, several evenings to hang out, after dinner, we enjoyed Fox and the Hound and popcorn with Miss Carleigh...

Miss Clara eating popcorn (or again transferring popcorn from the larger container to another!!) :)

Homemade pancakes and eggs for Sunday breakfast with Miss Carleigh...

We love our Miss Carleigh!!

Now every once in awhile, Stanley wants his picture taken...
HAPPY FACE!!

SAD FACE!!!

MAD FACE!!!

CRAZY FACE!!

One morning this week when Stanley was at preschool, Clara loved making blueberry streusel muffins with Mommy, notice the little baby spoon in her hand, she needed to use her own baby spoon not the big mama spoon...Miss Independent, she is for sure!!

Since life has been so busy lately, our family is enjoyed a family day together, we woke up had Panera bagels for breakfast (which Daddy so kindly brought home from Memphis yesterday, he knows how to love and woo! his wife!!)...and then at 8am this morning, my kids were enjoying popcorn and Tarzan and Jane, the movie, because we promised that to them...my friend, Molly told me about an alternate science experiment with baking soda, food coloring, and vinegar...a magic trick!!

It was a hit with the kids, of course!!

And, there you have it, a little taste of what we have been up to, now, maybe I can catch you up soon with some thoughts, profound or not, you'll have to wait and see...hope you are well, as always, thanks for stopping!!

Love,
Kendra :)

  1. Kendra,
It was good catching up. Madison loves the vinegar and baking soda. If you want to give them a little more freedom to do it themself (as they always want to do), get some of those free medicine droppers from the pharmacy and show them how to suck up the colored vinegar and put it in their own bowl. (here is Madison doing it http://coloradyohs.blogspot.com/2012/10/its-great-day.html) It helps work on fine motor skills to - learnign how to squeeze the dropper. It looks like you had a lot of fun. I have not been brave enough to finger paint... how bad is it? :) Hope you are well.

  2. thanks erin, yes, we have done it the way you described this way was a little different, molly told me about it yesterday...both are fun, but this way today didn't last near as long :) and used more ingredients...I need to do that again with stanley he did that for a good 45 minutes, I bet!! Do the finger painting, it's fun! I don't tell them we are doing it until I'm all set up to do it...I bet we do it about once a month, and I always let them color in the tub the same day because a bath is necessary...then after that I clean the tub...I do have to be up for the challenge but they love it and it passes a lot of time...they actually love coloring in the tub the very most! Do you have bath crayons? You need to, they are at wal-mart!! love ya friend, kendra
